Originating in Baylonia, Western Astrology is the science of interpreting the effect of the solar system on human behaviour. The planets and signs of the zodiac are plotted on a horoscope set for a particular time, date and place, usually the birth of the native. The interaction between the sidereal zodiac and the local horizon together with the angular aspects between the planets provides a frame of reference for interpretation. The horoscope is also divided into twelve celestial houses each governing a feature of human affairs. The planets that occupy these houses suggest to the astrologer how the life of the native will be affected.
